EMILY WHITE, MS, OTR/L, BCP

Hi there! I’m Emily- an occupational therapist and owner of Converge Therapy Solutions. I have been a pediatric occupational therapist for 6 years, working in a variety of settings including hospital, school and community programs.

I received my Masters of Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2016 and have since become board certified in pediatrics through the American Occupational Therapy Association. I have extensive experience in treating children with a variety of diagnoses and challenges. I am a strengths-based, family-centered, and neurodiversity-affirming therapist who values play and connection to maximize skill building and participation.

My hope is to help your child and your family integrate therapy into your life in a holistic way that allows for improvement in meaningful engagement in the things that really matter to you.

OUR COMMUNITY PARTNER

Mission Statement

To provide holistic, family-centered and strengths-based occupational therapy to children and adolescents in the natural environment with a focus on play and building strong relationships in order to maximize functional outcomes and community participation.

Vision Statement

We envision a child having access to therapy where life happens. We envision utilizing the world around, including outdoor nature environments, to promote building skills. We envision strong relationships and therapists walking alongside families on their journey. We envision a child’s life, not compartmentalized by home, school, therapies or other activities- but one that is wholly their own- where their best selves and experiences in the world converge.

Values

Converge Therapy Solutions operates by the following guiding principles:

  • Intentionality: We believe in purposeful and deliberate therapy that is tailored to each child's unique needs and strengths.

  • Curiosity: We are okay with not knowing all of the answers, but are open to new perspectives and always committing to learning. When we know better, we do better.

  • Trustworthiness: We prioritize trust and transparency in our relationships with clients and their families, and strive to consistently provide high-quality care.

  • Connection: We believe in the power of connection, and work to build strong relationships with our clients and their families to support their progress and well-being.

  • Play: We believe in the importance of play as a tool for learning and development, and incorporate fun and engaging activities into our therapy sessions to help children build new skills and gain confidence.

  • Compassion: We approach our work with compassion and empathy, recognizing the unique challenges and strengths of each child and family, and working to provide support and guidance every step of the way.
